Runathon T-Shirts are on sale now! You can preorder them outside of the the bursary for $25, or buy them online at the WC sports registration website for $26.  Purchasing a shirt allows you to wear Mufti (That includes the Runathon T-shirt) this Friday, the 23rd, instead of the usual WC uniform. T-Shirts will be available for purchase on the day but will cost you $30!

The Football Trial for the 15/3 team scheduled for 3.30pm Tuesday 20th has been moved to 7am Thursday 22nd March . Selected players will be invited on Tuesday evening (tomorrow)to attend this trial.

TAB Pasifika Study. Session 2 is Monday 26th March, 3.15.Library.  Bring your work and your brothers. We will start and end with food - no need to buy from Macs or Jacks. 


10RC: Your have the honour and the privilege to be the duty tutor group for Weeks 8 and 9 of Term 1. Report for duty in the corridor area outside Mr Ashby's office at 12.55pm every lunchtime.  Your attendance is expected and a roll will be taken.  Do not be late.

Y12/Y13 Advanced Research Skills and Transition to Tertiary Study. Join the research team on Tuesday 27th March at lunchtime (12:40 - 1:25pm) in Room 104, Tower Block Computer suite, for a useful session on finding stuff, the good stuff for assignments! We will cover:

  • Online Research skills you should be using now at WC  (especially if working at Scholarship level)
  • Research skills that will ease your transition to tertiary study, be it at a polytechnic, university, or any tertiary institution (including for those currently enrolled in uni papers and are struggling with the university online library search tools)
  • Online research skills for any subject with a research component - Chemistry, Health Sciences, History, English Literature, Business Studies, Geography etc...
  • Database searching using Boolean Operators, Citation Tools, Google Scholar, and much more!

Year 13 Study Period - Due to Health and Safety regulations, students who leave school grounds during there study period must sign out and in at main reception. Periods 2 to 5 only.


Bell Gully Work Experience Days registration is open.  If you are in year 13 and seriously considering studying Law this is an excellent opportunity to get first hand experience at Bell Gully Law Firm on Thursday 31st May and Friday 1st June. Please note that Friday 1st June is a teacher only day and you need to be able to committ to both days. The work experience programme will run from 9am to 3.30pm.  Please register your interest by email or in person to Mrs Sims. Spaces are limited.

Auckland University will be here on Thursday March 22nd to give their intro to Uni presentation. Bring your lunch to SR1 at 12.30pm.

Chamber Music Groups - there is a coaching weekend on offer (free of charge!) at the NZ School of Music on Kelburn Campus, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 May over three sessions, finishing with an informal concert on the Sunday afternoon. This is a great opportunity to be tutored by some excellent musicians and prepare for the upcoming Chamber Music Contest in June. If your group is interested and/or would like more infor (could be a mixed group with other schools) please express your interest to Ms Roberts or email s.roberts@wc.school.nz and she will register you.
